Community-focused Activist.
Educator. Minister. Business Officer.

Bill Hammond, a Midwesterner at heart, grew up in St. Joseph, MO.

He earned a Bachelor of Education degree from Missouri Western State College and a Masters of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Seminary. He served as a pastor in several Methodist churches in Missouri and Kansas and enjoyed conducting worship and working with youth.

Education became a focus in Bill’s varied work experience. He served as Business Officer for two community colleges. He then retired after 13 years with the Dodge City School System. During that tenure Bill worked with Schools for Fair Funding. This organization recognizes the States’s responsibility for providing adequate funding of the public education system, and their mission came to the forefront for Bill. This makes him uniquely qualified to understand and foster education at all levels.

Bill’s interest in politics crystallized through his involvement in assisting communities to build a bench of candidates in Western Kansas.

A family man, Bill has two grown daughters. He and his wife, Suzanne, delight in spending time with their great-niece.
